Castle Doors
Castle doors should be as beautiful as the castle’s they were built to protect. Â Castle’s are generally considered to be the private fortified residence of a lord or noble. Â Since these were “fortified” residences, their doors needed to be impenetrable as well.
Doors by Decora’s castle doors are a fundamental part of our Old World Collection. Therefore, our doors feature design elements found on many of the doors that you would expect to find on an old english castle. Also, our finishing department has  the ability to add distressing to make your doors appear even older.Â
Hardware accents like strap hinges and clavos add to the illusion that these doors are ancient. In the Old World Collection, you will find many castle designs from large entries to small intimate cottage doors like our popular speakeasy door.  You can see some of our favorite castle doors below, or view all Old World Doors.
Design Elements of Castle Doors
At Doors by Decora, we employ many design elements so our castle doors look like they came off an ancient castle. Â Many of our doors are hand distressed using tools like hand planers, hammers, and wire brushes. Â In addition, our own finishing department then stains and finishes these doors to accent those distressed areas.
In addition, Doors by Decora also offers our customers several full lines of hardware to choose from. Â Many of these hardware lines offer distressed finishes and styles that can add the perfect finishing touch. Â You can find many rustic hardware choices such as calvos (decorative nail heads), strap hinges, and rustic door knockers just to name a few.
Many of these details are featured in the doors below, or you can view all of our Old World Doors.
