This set of beautiful custom old world distressed doors were constructed out of solid Spanish Cedar for a new home in Matthew, Alabama. Each door is 36″ x 96″ x 2 1/4″ and feature a rabbited transom. The benefit of a rabbited transom is that it gives the impression that the doors go all the way to the top of the door frame, making them appear even taller than they are. Adding to the grandeur of this unit is our 8711 Casing with 8387 Backband. This molding is much wider than our traditional brick mold.
In the transom are two pieces of custom leaded glass. Each piece features a glass rondel in the center. Rondels are mouth-blown pieces of art glass that have been spun into circular shapes and are often irregular, giving each piece a unique look.
Before we installed this unit, the experts in our finishing department sandblasted the unit to make it look old and worn. It was then stained and finished to protect the wood.
We provided a Rocky Mountain E830-E831 handle set in a White Bronze Dark finish. We also provided Rocky Mountain DC3 Clavos to look like decorative nail heads holding the panels in place.
